In February 2008 I applied for a job with the Federal Government (if you know the agency, please do not mention it). For the past year and a half, I have been “patiently” waiting for the call that would change everything. Well, it finally came!
At the end of December, we will be moving to Washington DC! I will start working in the middle of January. Luckily, Kyle will be able to work remotely with his current company.
We are excited for this new phase for our family!

I survived my first week as a Master’s student of Michigan State. I have to admit that it didn’t really feel different. I guess that’s because all of my classes are online. Hopefully the semester goes well and I can get A’s in both of my classes!
This Friday Kyle and I are spending the night in Saint Augustine. We were blessed by someone who offered us a night in a hotel… for FREE! We couldn’t pass up the offer! I am looking forward to having some alone time with my husband. I know that once Jonathan is here, these moments will probably be few and far between.
Jonathan is rolling…not kicking, rolling… up a storm. I (affectionately) call him my “roly poly” baby! I can’t wait to meet him in about 7 weeks and see the little guy that was going crazy in my belly!
Saturday morning I have my second baby shower for Jonathan. It is my “family” shower. I not only get to spend some time with my wonderful family, but I get to see a friend whom I haven’t seen in over a year and one whom I haven’t seen in 2 1/2 years! I am so excited!
I will post again after my shower to let you (whoever, if anyone, reads this) know how it went!

I don’t even know if anyone still reads our blog, but I am going to give an update on what has been happening in our lives the past few months and some things that are to come.
Baby
- The last blog I posted was announcing that our little one is a boy!
- Things have been going well in my pregnancy and I am now 29 weeks along.
- We have started Jonathan’s nursery, but still have a ways to go before it will be complete.
- I have my first baby shower next weekend and I am really excited for it! I have been to quite a few baby showers recently, but I can’t believe this one will be for me and my little one!
- Jonathan has been really active lately. It is so amazing to feel him moving around. Kyle and I love to watch my belly as Jonathan does his gymnastics! (It’s definitely NOT soccer because he does some sommersaults in there, too!)
- Kyle and I recently took a tour of the hospital where Jonathan will be delivered. It is a newer hospital and we love everything about it! There are closer hospitals to us, but I am glad we decided to deliver where we have. I don’t think we’d be as happy anywhere else.
- We also started our Birth Classes last week. We are taking them through the hospital and they have been very informative. Most of the information is brand new to Kyle and I know he is enjoying soaking it all in.
Everything Else
(I hate to have a general category for everything else, but it seems like our life is revolving around Jonathan and there isn’t much else going on in our lives at this time!)
- My grandma passed away in June. That was a hard time for all of us, but I know she is in a much better place now.
- At the beginning of the month, Kyle went to Reno, NV with some of my family for my cousin’s wedding (he was a groomsman). He had an awesome time! (I decided not to go because I didn’t want to travel at 27 weeks pregnant)
- In about 3 weeks I will be starting classes at Michigan State University. I will be doing an online program working toward my Master of Science in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis (LEIA). I am really looking forward to those classes starting. I really miss school!
Other than that, we haven’t been up to much lately. We are just trying to enjoy every day!

Kyle and I are back from Orlando and we had a wonderful time. We stayed at Celebration Hotel in Celebration, FL (a town created by Disney). The hotel was beautiful and the town was quaint.
Wednesday we arrived in town around 5:30pm after a nice drive down from Jacksonville. We went to Olive Garden for dinner, Rita’s for dessert, and then spent the rest of the night relaxing at the hotel.
On Thursday, after a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, we “explored” the town of Celebration- it didn’t take very long! Then we went to Congo River Golf to play some mini golf. The only mini golf Kyle and I have ever played is at Adventure Landing… this was SO much more fun! There were holes in caves, down steep hills, and there were even small water hazards! After mini golf we had a quick lunch and then headed back to the hotel to rest a bit. We headed back out around 5:30 to go to dinner and then to our Cirque Du Soleil show (“La Nouba”) at Downtown Disney. The show was AMAZING! It wasn’t as good as “O” in Las Vegas (the water show), but it was A LOT better than “Mystere” (also in Vegas).
Friday we slept in, had another great breakfast at the hotel, and then headed home. The drive went nice and smooth. We had a great time in Orlando. It’s always nice to get away and have some quiet alone time!

Wow, I can’t believe it is already March. It seems like February went by so quickly. March is a big month for us!
Next week (March 11th-13th) Kyle and I are heading down to Orlando to celebrate our 2 year anniversary (which is actually on March 17th). We are just going to get away for a few days to relax and have fun. While we are in Orlando we will see “La Nouba” (Cirque Du Soleil), go to some museums/gardens, and play some miniature golf. It should be really fun.
Then, on March 23rd, Kyle will celebrate his 24th birthday! We’re not doing much for his birthday, but it should still be fun as usual. There are a few other fun and exciting things going on… but I’ll save those for another day!
