Confession #3

Posted by Liz Peterson on September 6, 2008

Today Kyle and I are headed to our 6th wedding since June 2008 started.  We went to 3 in June, 1 in July, 1 in August, and now 1 in September.  This brings me to my confession…

Confession #3:

I don’t know how I feel about attending weddings as a guest.  I enjoy being a bridesmaid because I get to spend time with my close friend and help things come together.  Sometimes I feel awkward being a guest, almost unsure of what I am supposed to do!  As a bridesmaid I know what my duties are and I like doing them.  I enjoy staying for the entire wedding because it’s my close friend and I want to be there for them.  I like to get out on the dance floor and spend time with the bride and other bridesmaids.  As a guest, sometimes I feel like just sitting down or leaving early because I don’t feel like a part of the festivities as much.  Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy the ceremony and seeing two people in love share their joy, but sometimes the reception isn’t as fun!

Confession #2

Posted by Liz Peterson on August 11, 2008

It turns out that for some couples video games is also a bonding experience.  I am glad that is true!  Time for another confession.  This one requries a little background first.

A lot of people know this, but a lot don’t.  I grew up in a military family.  My dad just retired last year after 24 years in the Navy.  Being a “Navy Brat,” my family moved around a lot.  I was born in Northern California and we moved to Southern California four years later.  After living in SoCal for seven years, we moved to Chicago for four years.  Then, it was off to New Jersey for a year.  For the past seven years I have been in Jacksonville, FL.  Most people would hate moving around as much as I did (I mean, I went to three different high schools in three different states), but I am glad I did.  In fact…

Confession #2:

I enjoy moving around!  I am more than ready to leave Jacksonville.  Thankfully, I married a man that is willing to move with me even though he has lived in Jacksonville his entire life!  I really would like to move to Washington, DC, but I also think it would be cool to live in Oregon (no real reason why)!  Even though I have lived in a city for seven years (San Diego, CA and Jacksonville, FL), I have never lived in the same “home” for more than three years.  I love that!  I can’t imagine living in the same house for a long time!  So, who knows what’s next for us, but hopefully it involves moving sometime in the future!

Confession #1

Posted by Liz Peterson on August 4, 2008

I think over the course of the next few weeks, I am going to post some confessions. They probably aren’t going to be too exciting, but they are things not a lot of people know about me. So here goes…

Confession #1:

I enjoy watching my husband play video games. Okay, he really only plays one, Halo 3, but I really enjoy watching him play. It’s to the point where I ask him if he’ll be playing soon because I really want to watch. I know I can annoy him sometimes, but I also like to try to help out. If I see a guy that is trying to kill him, I will let him know where they’re at. It can be hard for him to keep track of everyone when he is trying to kill others. I know that video games can become something that separates couples, and I am glad it does the opposite for me and Kyle!
