Baby Showers… Done!

We had our last two baby showers for Jonathan within the past week.  We had one last Tuesday (the 22nd) and one this past Saturday (the 26th).

Kyle’s work threw the shower on the 22nd.  They did it as a potluck luncheon that day and they had some presents for us for Jonathan.  It was not something they had to do so we were very grateful for their generosity!

The shower on the 26th was thrown by some of the ladies at my church.  We received a lot of clothes at this shower, but that was fine because we really hadn’t received many clothes at our other showers.  I can’t wait to see Jonathan in all his cute outfits!

Now that our showers are over, Kyle and I just have a few more things we need to get before we are ready for Jonathan’s arrival.  We also have to organize everything in the nursery.  I guess I am just waiting for that whole “nesting” thing to kick in!

It is starting to hit me that we are going to be parents soon.  It’s crazy to think!  Kyle is really ready for Jonathan to be here.  I think it’s partly because he doesn’t get to experience everything that I have.  I don’t feel as ready… but ask me again in about 4 weeks when it’s his due date!

Baby Shower #2

I had my second baby shower this past Saturday.  It was my “family” shower, although a few of my friends were invited as well.  It was hosted by my Aunt Kathy, with a little help from my mom.  It was perfect.  We received so many gifts!  I am amazed at how blessed Jonathan is already!

One of the most touching things was a gift I received from my grandpa.  He wasn’t actually at the shower, but he had given something to my aunt to give to me.  It was a baby afghan that my grandma had made awhile ago.  As soon as I saw it, I started to cry.  It was hard not having my grandma there to celebrate with me.  My grandma was always so excited about my pregnancy.  I miss her so much, but I am glad that Jonathan will always have something that his great grandma made.

I still have two more baby showers to go (I am telling you, Jonathan is so blessed)!  Once those are done, we can start organizing his room and putting things away!

What’s Going On

I survived my first week as a Master’s student of Michigan State.  I have to admit that it didn’t really feel different.  I guess that’s because all of my classes are online.  Hopefully the semester goes well and I can get A’s in both of my classes!

This Friday Kyle and I are spending the night in Saint Augustine.  We were blessed by someone who offered us a night in a hotel… for FREE!  We couldn’t pass up the offer!  I am looking forward to having some alone time with my husband.  I know that once Jonathan is here, these moments will probably be few and far between.

Jonathan is rolling…not kicking, rolling… up a storm.  I (affectionately) call him my “roly poly” baby!  I can’t wait to meet him in about 7 weeks and see the little guy that was going crazy in my belly!

Saturday morning I have my second baby shower for Jonathan.  It is my “family” shower.  I not only get to spend some time with my wonderful family, but I get to see a friend whom I haven’t seen in over a year and one whom I haven’t seen in 2 1/2 years!  I am so excited!

Back to School, Back to School…

So, tomorrow is officially my first day as a student of Michigan State University.  It won’t feel any different though because I live in Florida and all of my classes are online!  In fact, my syllibi have been posted and I have already started working on my schoolwork.  Hey, it is better to be ahead than to fall behind!  Hopefully this semester goes well!  Wish me luck!
