First of all, welcome to mine and Kyle’s new blog. This is going to be the place where we write about what has been happening in our lives and various other thoughts. A lot has been going on for the past few months. Tomorrow, December 17th, will be nine months of marriage for us. The time has gone by extremely fast, but it has definitely been a joyful journey. I will spend this post mainly recapping the Fall 2007 semester and I will also share some exciting news about some things we have planned for the upcoming year.
The past semester (Fall 2007) was a really busy one for me. It was my last semester of college (yay)! I took nine credit hours, did a 180 hour internship at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and also worked almost full-time at Pottery Barn. Well, my hard work paid off and I graduated Magna Cum Laude this past Friday from the University of North Florida with a BA in Criminal Justice. I have no idea what I am going to do with my life now, but I have a degree so that should count for something!
Kyle and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving together as a married couple. We spent the day relaxing and enjoying time with our families. We also put up our first Christmas tree together shortly after Thanksgiving. We will be hosting Christmas for our families this year (crazy!) so we want to make sure everything looks beautiful! I absolutely love our tree. It is done in blues, whites, silvers, and clear. It is my “dream” Christmas tree.
Now, a couple of things for 2008! On June 28, 2008 my friend Elaine (my Maid of Honor) will be getting married in New Jersey. Kyle and I will be going up there with my mom. We will be leaving Tuesday (June 24th) night and drive part of the way up. Then we will finish our drive early Wednesday. We will spend some time in New York City on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Elaine and Aaron will get married on Saturday the 28th and we will leave for home early Sunday morning. On the way back to Florida we are going to spend the night in Washington, DC so we can experience the Capital. Kyle has never been to NYC or DC so I am excited for him to see both cities.
Kyle and I also just recently planned a trip to Las Vegas for our one year wedding anniversary in March. Our anniversary is on March 17th, but we will be leaving Florida on Tuesday (March 18th) night to fly out to Vegas. We will be leaving Vegas on Tuesday (March 25th) morning to return to Florida. We have not decided on everything we will be doing out there, but we do know of some shows we will be attending. We will be seeing two Cirque du Soleil shows, “O” and “Mystère.” We have also decided that we will be staying at the Stratosphere Hotel. If you have any other ideas about what we can do while we visit Vegas, we are open. I went there a few years ago and just enjoyed walking around the hotels/casinos and cannot wait to visit again (this will be Kyle’s first trip to Vegas).
Well, I guess that this is it for now. I will post more when I have more to discuss!
