In February 2008 I applied for a job with the Federal Government (if you know the agency, please do not mention it). For the past year and a half, I have been “patiently” waiting for the call that would change everything. Well, it finally came!
At the end of December, we will be moving to Washington DC! I will start working in the middle of January. Luckily, Kyle will be able to work remotely with his current company.
We are excited for this new phase for our family!

Jonathan Rhys was born on Tuesday, October 27th at 5:10pm. He weighed 8lb 9oz and was 21 1/2 inches long.

It is already 6 days into October. Jonathan is due THIS month! That is so crazy to think. I know that since I am due on the 30th, he may not make his appearance until November… but still… he could very well be here this month! I guess we should start getting things ready (finish the nursery, pack a hospital bag, install the car seat, etc.). The countdown is on!

We had our last two baby showers for Jonathan within the past week. We had one last Tuesday (the 22nd) and one this past Saturday (the 26th).
Kyle’s work threw the shower on the 22nd. They did it as a potluck luncheon that day and they had some presents for us for Jonathan. It was not something they had to do so we were very grateful for their generosity!
The shower on the 26th was thrown by some of the ladies at my church. We received a lot of clothes at this shower, but that was fine because we really hadn’t received many clothes at our other showers. I can’t wait to see Jonathan in all his cute outfits!
Now that our showers are over, Kyle and I just have a few more things we need to get before we are ready for Jonathan’s arrival. We also have to organize everything in the nursery. I guess I am just waiting for that whole “nesting” thing to kick in!
It is starting to hit me that we are going to be parents soon. It’s crazy to think! Kyle is really ready for Jonathan to be here. I think it’s partly because he doesn’t get to experience everything that I have. I don’t feel as ready… but ask me again in about 4 weeks when it’s his due date!
